Edwin H. Hughes joined the Iowa Conference of the Methodist
Episcopal Church in 1866 and was elected bishop in 1908. From 1903
until 1909 Hughes served as President of DePauw University.
(1866–1950) for his support and that of the church. In the following
letter of January 25, 1940, he invites the bishop to join the Fund’s
board of National Sponsors.
