August 8, 1910 letter from Theodore Roosevelt to Rev. Frederick D.
Leete.
Former president Theodore Roosevelt (1858–1919) joined the editorial
staff of
The Outlook
, a news and opinion magazine, in 1909. Minister
and historian Frederick D. Leete became a bishop in the Methodist
Episcopal Church in 1912. Many of the documents in this exhibition
were given to Bridwell Library by Bishop Leete, a well-known collector
of Methodist books and manuscripts.
