Title: [Missal]. Use of Rome
Origin: [Italy: 14th century].
Description: Illuminated manuscript on parchment. 193 leaves. 35 x 24 cm. Double column of 24 lines. Textblock: 21 x 16.5 cm. 
Binding: Rebound in white pigskin by Jan Sobota in 1991. Brass bosses reproduced. Original boards in box.
Decoration: Headings rubricated in red. Illuminated initials in red, blue and gold with blue and purple filigree penwork. Marginalia (drolleries): red dragon, heron with fish, helmeted centaur with spear (f. 6r).
Comments: Written in gothic rotunda script, with musical notation on 4-line staves. The calendar in the opening quires is for the Use of Rome.
Provenance: (1) Thomas J. Harrison, Pryor, Oklahoma, deposited at Bridwell Library, 1964. (2) Gift of Harrison Trust, 1994.
