Title: [Book of Hours].Use of Rome. Origin: [Florence or Fiesole, Italy, c.1470]. Description: Illuminated manuscript on parchment. 198 leaves. 13 x 9 cm. Single column of 13 lines. Textblock: 6.4 x 4.8 cm. Binding: Original wooden boards, covered with contemporary worn crimson velvet. Two clasps missing. Rebound 2005. Comments: Written in gothic rotunda script with brown, red, and blue ink. Last 14 leaves in different hands. Includes scribal signature: "Biagio di Piero di Jacopo da Fiesole" on folio 111r. Decoration: 4 large miniatures, 4 large initials, and 8 floral borders. Many initials with vine-work decoration. Provenance: (1) Frank Glenn, Kansas City. (2) Frank W. Wilson, Milwaukee.
