The Academic Technology Service Directors continue to provide hands-on resources and workshops each term to ensure faculty have all they need to succeed with their online course content and stay apprised of the latest developments in learning technologies.
The Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) continues to be a cornerstone of SMU’s digital
learning environment, offering robust tools and resources for course management and delivery. These improvements ensure that students and instructors can access and utilize the LMS efficiently, regardless
of location or device. Additional templates and other quality-of-life improvements have also been applied
to the Simple Syllabus platform within Canvas, providing even more flexibility and convenience for faculty to create engaging and informative syllabi while accommodating required university verbiage. The recent integration of LinkedIn Learning with Canvas has provided students and faculty with seamless access to a vast library of training resources. This integration allows faculty to easily incorporate LinkedIn Learning resources into their Canvas courses, enhancing the overall educational experience. The LinkedIn Learning LTI tool offers a wealth of knowledge and skills development opportunities, supporting academic and professional growth.
