These modules have simplified the process for engaging departments for help. For campus events, the process has been simplified by reducing the number of forms required and establishing clear policies and procedures across the various supporting departments. We increased transparency of service delivery and support trends for internal service departments, providing key personnel throughout schools and divisions crucial insights using Power BI dashboards.
We increased ease and efficiency to locate and reserve more than 500 spaces across campus and drastically improved the accuracy of office assignments and building utilization reports. We simplified financial reconciliation of purchases and invoices through key integrations with SMU Financials. Along with other improvements, we successfully enhanced the customer experience while equipping the university decision makers with powerful datasets to continue guiding and improving SMU.
SMU has invested significantly in the STABLE implementation, both in the resource hours
invested to implement and the ongoing software costs. “This has been one of the most challenging and complex projects that I have undertaken.” said Rachel Mulry, Associate CIO for Planning and Customer Service and Project Manager for the STABLE implementation. “This implementation allowed us to review and rearchitect many different processes across the university to meet various objectives from compliance to efficient service delivery. I believe there is still so much more we can do to improve the service and support of our community, and I look forward to continuing these efforts.”
The data from this central platform provides powerful insight into many processes to help understand our community’s needs and areas
for improvement. It has given greater visibility
to events and services on campus, utilization of space, and ongoing challenges and opportunities. We will continue onboarding new processes and enhance the existing ones within the application to support SMU.
