OIT Welcomes
new CISO
In May, the Office of Information Technology
welcomed Corrina Taylor, CISSP, as Chief Information
Security Officer (CISO). Corrina brings a decade of
experience in cybersecurity, with a strong record of
strategic leadership, cross-functional collaboration,
and building high-performing security teams. She is
known for advancing security as a strategic enabler,
supporting institutional continuity, compliance, and
long-term value.

“Cybersecurity has been the focus of my entire career,
and I’m genuinely passionate about the work,” Corrina
shared. “It’s not just about technology — it’s about
protecting people, enabling progress, and being a
trusted partner to the entire university community.”
Under her leadership, SMU will enhance collaboration
across departments and stakeholder groups, revitalize
security awareness efforts through communications
and educational events, and strengthen SMU’s cyber
resilience to better detect, respond to, and recover
from threats. Corrina also plans to increase awareness
around influencing the responsible use of secure
adoption of artificial intelligence in higher education.
