ways to use Copilot to make your life a little bit
easier and anticipate future advancements. I was
surprised by Copilot’s ability to work across the
enterprise. I quickly realized how I could use it
within Word, Excel, Outlook, and other tools to
track my work, synthesize email communication,
and analyze data. It’s revolutionizing how I work.”
This fall, two new AI learning pathways are being
introduced to enhance staff engagement. Staff
will have opportunities to attend workshops on
generative AI and prompt engineering and explore
AI functionality embedded in Microsoft Office
through standard or premium Copilot versions.
OIT will work with teams and departments to
find further opportunities for business process
improvement and increased efficiency through AI,
automation, and other software solutions available
at SMU.
OIT remains committed to collaborating with
campus stakeholders to ensure that SMU can
strategically adopt and utilize AI technologies.
Through efforts such as the AI Coalition of
the Willing, Operation Copilot, and Liminal,
OIT is promoting a culture of responsible AI
experimentation and collective learning.
