itself was impressive, but I was amazed by the technical acrobatics managed by Steve with great ease. Much like a painter uses the various colors in their palette to create a masterpiece, the creativity and ingenuity of the faculty to use the technology in new ways, truly created an experience beyond what I ever imagined possible.”
MICROSOFT OFFICE CERTIFICATIONS CONTINUE WITH GREAT SUCCESS
OIT’s Microsoft Office Specialist certification program offers participants the tools to develop advanced proficiency with Office applications while earning an industry recognized certification. During fiscal year 2021, we experienced a 65% increase in certifications awarded with a total of 1,001 certificates issued last year alone. This fall, we are on the road to 3,000 certifications earned since the inception of this program.
Because of the program’s rapid growth, new systems and processes were required to organize the various data elements of the program. After working with our Applications Services team, an integrated database was created to allow testing administrators and proctors to easily manage
data in a centralized location. Practice test requirements, fees, grades, and other essential information are now easily made available, allowing the testing team to provide stellar service to testers as well as the faculty who require these exams in their courses.
As the 2020-2021 academic year required support for both in-person and remote students, we incorporated remote testing options for all exams. Our exam vendor provided a solution to allow students to complete a proctored exam from home which we were able to utilize frequently. These sessions helped immensely with enabling students, faculty, and staff continue their certification journey.
