SMU’s supercomputing ecosystem is a perfect partner for business
The University’s high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure provides
businesses of all sizes a venue for revolutionary research and development, supported by
world-class faculty able to assist in tackling challenges startups and legacy corporations
face daily.
SMU’s computing capacity and expertise provide real benefits for North Texas. As
the
region continues its growth as a national tech nexus, in both capacity and recognition,
our HPC environment, augmented by NVIDIA’s DGX SuperPOD full-stack data center
platform
and GPUs, makes AI-level computational research accessible for companies.
SMU’s research partners can work with our faculty to use AI in solving problems
across a wide array of sectors, ranging from drug discovery to advanced aerospace
manufacturing, from renewable energy development to improving regional transportation.
Contact Tim Angell to learn how your company can
partner with SMU faculty and students to start projects taking advantage of a top-tier
computational research ecosystem. We welcome your interest and collaboration!
Texas-Mexico Center provides expertise in cross-border policy areas
Located in the University’s Dedman College of Humanities and Sciences, the Mission
Foods
Texas-Mexico Center is an action-oriented, research-driven center committed to
researching
the political, cultural, economic and business relationship between Texas and
Mexico. Through informed dialogue and innovative research, the center
explores the dynamics between the two regions whose histories and economies are deeply
intertwined.
The center encourages greater cross-border integration and cross-sector collaboration
–
bringing together academia, government, NGOs and business to engage in meaningful
conversations and develop real-world solutions. Its work results in actionable ideas and
policy recommendations responding to current issues of major bilateral importance.
The center is seeking corporate partners to help strengthen the Texas-Mexico relationship
while providing a platform for leadership visibility and engagement at the highest levels.
Participating in the center gives companies opportunities to align their brand with a
respected, research-based institution at the forefront of international relations, join
national and international thought leaders, shape and participate in major symposia, and
access a talent pipeline of globally minded, policy savvy students and fellows. Currently,
endowments, event sponsorships and program sponsorships are available. For more

SMU students complete AT&T Data Science Scholars Program
In mid-August, nine undergraduate and graduate students completed the University’s
AT&T
Data Science Scholars Program (DSSP), which includes a certification in data science
and a
full-time paid internship at AT&T. With coursework developed jointly between SMU faculty
and AT&T leadership, the DSSP provides SMU students a chance to receive a data science
certification in a critical technological sector while gaining real-world experience
working with senior mentors at one of America’s leading companies. The DSSP also
allows
AT&T to strengthen a pipeline of premier student talent. If your company is considering
constructing a talent pipeline in data science or another tech field, please reach out to
Tim Angell to connect with SMU faculty and staff
ready to work with you.
