SMU continues to gain momentum, and building on it requires strong, forward-looking leadership across the University. With that in mind, we are launching the search for our next senior vice president for business and finance and chief financial officer. This is a critical role at an important moment. The next CFO will help advance our financial strategy, strengthen how we operate, and ensure we are investing with focus and discipline in the priorities that will carry SMU forward.
The search committee will be chaired by Executive Vice President and Provost Rachel Davis Mersey and includes the following members:
Sondra Barringer, associate professor, education policy and leadership, Simmons School of Education and Human Development
Rakesh Dahiya, chief investment officer
Bobby B. Lyle, member, SMU Board of Trustees
Chandra McQueen, director of internal audit
Todd Milbourn, dean and Tolleson Chair of Business Leadership, Cox School of Business
James T. Mobley, member, SMU Board of Trustees
Marjorie Rush, executive director, payroll services and systems optimization
Colleen Sorem, executive deputy athletics director
Harold W. Stanley, vice president for executive affairs
Bryan P. Stone, Leighton K. Farrell Endowed Dean, Perkins School of Theology
William H. Vanderstraaten, member, SMU Board of Trustees
We are partnering with Korn Ferry to support the search, which will begin in the coming weeks, with the goal of having this leader in place early in the fall semester.
Thank you to the members of this committee for taking on this important work. I look forward to the progress ahead as we continue to build what’s next for SMU.
