After the original Caruth Hall and the three Engineering Labs had been torn down, the Dean of Engineering met me during my last visit from Oregon. He shook my hand and said, "I have something for you". I was quite surprised when he handed me a brick taken from the old building, mounted with an engraved brass plaque in appreciation of its former students and faculty. I am just returning it in kind.

I leave this brick as a token reminder of my four years at SMU's School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS) for all my family, my future generations, friends and student to enjoy.
