I met my future husband, Doug, in the summer of 1983 right after I graduated from high school. I was going to be a freshman at SMU, and he was already a senior at SMU. Doug would meet me after every class and carry my books my next class everyday. He would bring me flowers and bake me cookies too!

After he graduated, his new career took him to Houston and Austin while I finished my degree at SMU. We had a 3-year long distance relationship during that time, and we got married the day after my last final.

Not only did I find my love at SMU, I became the first in my family to graduate from college. Following my graduation, my mother graduated from SMU as well just 2 years later. Our daughter will select her college soon...maybe it will be SMU too.

We are Mustangs for Life!
